San Luis Peak
Summit of San Luis Peak, part of the San Juan Range, with Andy and Amy on Jul 1, 2013. We stepped off at 5:05 a.m. and reached the summit at 8:30. We completed the 3,600 foot ascent and 13.5 mile round trip at 11:55. The scenery on this hike was the most beautiful of any 14er I've completed. There was an amazing number of wildflowers. In fact, I set up a special section at the end of just wildflowers. A good photographer would have had a field day. Me, I just point and shoot.

Amy pauses near one of the few cairns along the route. The trail is so obvious the entire way that they aren't needed. It was windy and quite chilly in this area.
